Memory IS (2021)

Memory IS (2021) is a series of six experimental photographs in which Alwan uses mirrors, tulle, and photographs to work through the memories of his mother and father. In this work, he struggles with reflection and keeping memories intact. The photographs discuss the haziness and erosion of memories over time and the lingering memories of a lost loved one, in addition to how memories can ebb and flow.
